And if you’re an entrepreneur, or better yet, a solopreneur you may have even more angst about it due to, not only lack of knowledge, but lack of time. Is this you? If so, read on. As a freelance web designer, I am always on the lookout for useful tips to help improve my design and marketing efforts for myself as well as my client’s businesses. I have found two articles that present easy, local SEO tactics that you can action today.
This Forbes article, titled “The Easiest SEO Tactics You Can Implement Today“, written by Mike Templeman focuses on website META data and content and how to promote that content to enhance your SEO ranking. He talks about a few simple steps such as improving your website loading speed, crafting great META data and using social media can get your website on its way to better ranking.
The second article on The Next Web, titled “5 actionable SEO tactics based on actual data“, written by Dmitry Dragilev focuses mostly on website content but shows proof of how these tactics have worked to grow his website ranking and traffic. It emphasizes the importance of long-form focused content, using images, as well as website loading speed and backlinks.
Drawing from these articles, I have listed three actions that I recommend and believe are the easiest to implement.
- Choose Keywords – Choosing the right keywords to use in page titles, URLs, headers and content makes your content keyword rich to get noticed in search engines.
- Craft META Data – Make sure your META descriptions are eye-catching and unique on every page.
- Check Page Loading Speed – Make sure your website loads as quick as possible. You can test and identify ways to make your site faster using tools like Google’s PageSpeed Insights.
Take action today with these steps to begin improving your website ranking.
